Boulder Bay Classic
This 10km off-road run captures the stunning coastline views of the Godley Head Track. The well maintained track begins at Taylors Mistake beach and winds its way around the peninsula via Boulder Bay, past the historic huts and gun emplacements, to the top of Godley Head. From there you will move onto a grassed farm track before rejoining the Godley Head Pathway to return the start/finish line.

Located 15km east of Christchurch city, just over the hill from Sumner.
Please allow for extra time travelling to the event due to the narrow roads and possible roadworks. We encourage competitors to car pool if at all possible.

The Boulder Bay Classic starts on the beach before joining the Godley Head track – a well formed gravel pathway maintained to a high standard. There are a number of gates, as well as sections of wooden boardwalks and steps. In 2021 there will be sections of the run through farm paddocks (sheep tracks and 4 wheel drive tracks) where the surface can be uneven, rutted, or contain rocks and tussock.
While the track is very runnable, care is needed due to the coastal terrain, the narrowing of the track in places, and the traverse of farmland.
Please do not wear ipods or similar electronic gear during this run.

This will be a fun event for children under the age of 13 years. A gold coin donation gets a race number and a small treat on completion.
The run will be approximately 700 – 1200m around the prize giving area.
The Kids Dash will start just before the prize giving.
